Ariella Rodriguez, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (TX #87278) from Austin, Texas. I received my BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin and moved to Dallas in 2018 and received my MA in Professional Counseling at Dallas Baptist University.
I have experience working with individuals who have endured various types of grief, trauma, homelessness and many daily life challenges. In addition, I have worked with populations from a variety of different groups ranging from teens, young adults to older adults and a large majority of them being from lower-income, disadvantaged areas. Being from this population and going through it firsthand has allowed me to advocate heavily for the importance of mental health care accessibility to all groups and cultures, not just a select few.
My professional approach in counseling is based on Carl Rogers' Person-Centered model. I believe that all clients deserve empathy and unconditional positive regard from me, to walk with them on this journey as they begin to see and reach their fullest potential. The client is the expert on their own life and my role is to join them on this adventure through the aspects they may not have been able to explore yet.
In my free time, I love to spend time with my family and cook and maybe do a bit of online shopping here and there. I love to attend sporting events and I appreciate a good lazy day every now and then-we all deserve a break sometimes.
