Individual Counseling
Are you experiencing changes in your mood and difficulty coping with daily stressors? Do you have concerns about your relationships, your career, your family issues, or your past experiences? An individual therapist can help. Counselors will assess for symptoms, explain mental health diagnoses that may fit your symptoms, and help you identify coping skills to improve your quality of life. If you have already been diagnosed with a mental health condition or are taking medication, individual therapy can be a valuable addition by helping you identify thinking habits, lifestyle changes, or past experiences that contribute to how you feel each day.
If you are struggling in relationships, individual counseling can help you brainstorm strategies to improve communication, resolve conflict, and maintain emotional regulation during challenging encounters. |
Individual counseling is the most common service we provide at Flourish. You can expect to meet one-on-one with your therapist for about an hour. Our office managers can help match you to the counselor that best fits your presenting concerns, your schedule, and your payment or insurance situation. You will complete intake forms prior to the first session through our HIPAA compliant client portal, including consent forms and a biopsychosocial history. Your counselor will encourage you to discuss your history, presenting concerns, and desired goals at the first session, but always at your pace. Counselors will always check in to ensure that you feel they are a good fit for your needs and and it's up to you to decide whether to continue the therapeutic relationship. You and the counselor together will determine the frequency of your sessions and make a plan for ongoing care.
