How Yoga Works
by Geshe Michael Roach "I've recently re-read this one, which was required for yoga teacher training. It explains Patanjali's Yoga Sutras through a fictional story and illustrates that physical practice is just one component of yoga philosophy. The moral of the story is that practicing kindness toward all beings brings freedom from suffering. Practicing kindness comes up in therapy often, usually in relation to self-compassion, so these ancient teachings are quite informative in that way."
