Megan Kennedy-Kotalik, LCSW
Our ability to grow and develop is almost limitless. While we may not easily recognize it, we all have strengths and abilities to aid in meeting our goals. By helping uncover those strengths and abilities, while providing in depth psychoeducation in attachment theory, mind/body and nervous system function and regulation techniques, I assist people in navigating challenges such as complex trauma, ADHD, anxiety, depression, self-harm, chronic stress, behavioral problems, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
I do my best to create a comfortable and safe environment, listen with empathy, and develop highly collaborative relationships with clients. My areas of specialization include complex trauma, the polyvagal approach to nervous system awareness and regulation, and attachment-based, mindfulness, and other trauma-informed therapies. |
Basic principles guiding my work include:
I have been employed in the human service field since 2010. In addition to working as an outpatient therapist, I have worked with at-risk youth and their families in schools, transitional housing settings and have experience assisting individuals on the autism spectrum while affirming neurodiversity.
Travel and adventure have long been among my favorite hobbies, and I am very passionate about work and advocacy in my local community. I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with my husband and two young boys.
I have a passion for helping others overcome life's inevitable challenges and look forward to hearing from you!
- People are experts of their lives and situations.
- People are good and doing the best they can.
- We are not defined by our problems.
- Transformation occurs from within.
