Jasmine Herrera - Martinez, Student Intern
Jasmine is currently on leave while obtaining her LPC Associate license, until approximately April 2024.
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at the University of North Texas at Dallas. Prior to pursuing my degree, I was in a major accident that has led me to work with Baylor Scott and White Hospital at Dallas with individuals who have suffered strokes or traumatic brain injuries. As a legally blind individual, I have experience working with children and adults who are visually impaired and blind. Additionally, I am part of a cohort for the Visually Impaired or Blind in Texas.
I do my best to learn about my clients and their various cultural dimensions to provide the best individualized care to all that I encounter. I believe that while the world is everchanging and individuals’ circumstances are different, there is the ability to acknowledge and grow from our experiences. It is my belief that the world gives us challenges that we can strive to grow from with a positive perspective and determination. I provide bilingual counseling in English and Spanish. |
