I have experience with both individual and group counseling to facilitate personal, social-emotional, and behavioral development for adolescents and young adults. My work has primarily focused on stress, anxiety, depression, behavior concerns, crisis management, self-esteem, conflict resolution, substance abuse prevention and intervention, racial literacy, and identity development. I utilize frameworks to better understand the impacts of trauma and use practices to foster a trauma-informed & resilience-focused mindset.
My philosophy of counseling is built on the human capacity to learn, develop, and grow. My approach will support you holistically, allowing us to explore ways your past shapes your present, collaborate to identify your internal and external resilience and strengths, and actionably improve your overall wellness. Together, we will work to better understand your identity, strengthen the relationships around you, and recognize the impact of societal pressures and expectations. My work is person-centered, and I view empathy and compassion as the groundwork for recognizing the personal worth of all individuals and their contribution to the greater community. By using a strengths-based approach beneficial to personal growth, my goal as a counselor is to ensure you feel listened to and respected.
In my free time, I enjoy being active, exploring nature, and traveling with my husband more than anything. I also love gardening and spending quality time with my two dogs and two cats.
